International Long COVID Awareness Day, recognized every year on March 15, honors people living with Long COVID and raises awareness of the many challenges of living with long-term illness after having COVID-19.
RECOVER honors people living with Long COVID and the communities that support and care for them every day. Researchers study how Long COVID can affect people of all ages in different ways and what may put someone at a higher chance of developing it. By studying data from more than 60 million electronic health records (EHRs) and listening to children, adults, and pregnant women, RECOVER researchers are learning more about the symptoms people can have and if they change over time. This knowledge is shared with scientific audiences, affected communities, and the general public as publications, directly supporting patient community awareness and understanding. In 2025, RECOVER published nearly 40 scientific papers, turning participant experiences into new knowledge that helps bring greater attention to Long COVID.
Awareness grows when people are heard. People may find support in many places — including schools, workplaces, and in community or faith-based settings—but support and advocacy groups also play an important role. They offer connection, shared learning, and open doors for important conversations.
RECOVER continues to stand with patients, caregivers, and communities affected by Long COVID. You can stay up to date on what we’re learning through our newsletters and educational materials that explore post-exertional malaise and help you prepare for conversations with your child’s doctor on Long COVID.
Each experience shared and every act of support helps the Long COVID community and guides better care. Together, we will continue working to understand, treat, and prevent Long COVID.
